The show follows Star Butterfly a princess from Mewni, a kingdom in another dimension, as she moves to earth and befriends Marco Diaz, a human.

I’m fairly impartial to this show. My younger sister loves this show and I don’t mind it that much. The characters are very two-dimensional, pardon the pun, and at the same time are very engaging. Marco is the straight laced good boy and Star just wants to have as much fun as possible.

There isn’t much of a plot-line but there is an antagonistic figure in Ludo, a small bird thing, who wants Star’s magical wand for himself. Ludo and his minions make Stars time on Earth a little bit more challenging.

There are some cool supporting characters such as, Marco’s parents, Pony Head, Tom Lucitor, Jackie Lynn Thomas, and Star’s Parents. Tom is my favorite and is a deamon from a Hell like dimension, also Star’s ex-boyfriend.

This show has many redeeming qualities and many unpleasant qualities. Most of those unpleasant qualities are the unrealisticality of cartoons. Yet if you were to ignore that and look past magically fixed objects and cleaned rooms minutes after a fight, you might be able to love this show as much as my sister does.
